Inflation remains extremely high

In March, consumer prices rose by an average of 25.2% compared to the same period last year. Household energy (+43.1%) and food prices have risen the most. Monthly inflation averaged 0.8%.

Food prices rose by 42.6% compared to March last year. Eggs rose by 74%, dairy products by 72.8%, butter by 68%, bread by 67%, cheese by 60.6%. Consumers had to pay 11.2% higher for durable consumer goods. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 19.7% and services by 13.0% compared to the previous year.
