EVE Power Hungary is building a plant in Debrecen on a 45-hectare site with a total floor area of 450,000 square meters, representing an investment of HUF 400 billion (approx. EUR 1.08 billion). This will be the parent company’s first production facility outside China. The investment was preceded by years of preparation, and the start of serial production is planned for the second half of 2027.
The company currently employs 165 people. In the near future, it plans to hire around 400 additional employees, mainly technicians, engineers, and support staff.
The plant will manufacture advanced cylindrical battery cells for BMW. Compared with current products, these batteries offer a 30% longer driving range and a 30% shorter charging time, enabling a range of over 900 km on a single charge.
EVE Energy is one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, with production facilities and sales offices in 14 countries.
