Karsai Alba Kft. is building a new plant for the manufacture of laboratory and medical technology equipment in Székesfehérvár with an investment volume of over HUF 4 billion (approx. EUR 10 million). The investment received subsidies of HUF 730 million (EUR 1.8 million) to increase Hungary’s self-sufficiency in the supply of medical technology. The plant will create 37 jobs.
Medical device manufacturing already employs 13,000 people in Hungary. The industry’s production volume has increased by 70% since the COVID pandemic to HUF 360 billion (approx. EUR 950 million) in 2023 and has continued to grow dynamically this year.
The government’s development strategy focuses in particular on companies controlled by domestic capital. Before Karsai Alba Kft., more than 1,100 other Hungarian companies had already received grants of HUF 580 billion (EUR 1.4 billion). These generated investments with a total value of HUF 2,300 billion (EUR 5.7 billion).
