Labor market – Youth Guarantee Plus programme

Applications for the EU-funded Youth Guarantee Plus programme with a budget of almost HUF 200 billion (EUR 508.9 million) can be submitted as of April 15. The aim of the project is to prevent the inactivity of young people and to promote the employment of people under the age of 30, according to the Ministry of Economy.

The program could help to integrate around 84,000 unemployed and inactive young people into the labour market by 2029. The program supports young people aged 15-29 who are neither studying nor working, but are registered with the employment office as looking for work or willing to work, in their search for a job, practical work experience or marketable skills. Those who participate in the programme receive personalized help to improve their labour market situation in the form of labour market services.

The wage subsidy is again a grant to the employer for up to 4 months for non-disadvantaged young people and up to 6 months for disadvantaged young people. The amount of the subsidy can be up to 50% of the gross wage to be paid, up to a maximum of HUF 250,000 (approx. EUR 636) per month.
