LEGO expands packaging and storage capacity

The Danish toy manufacturer is expanding its packaging and storage capacities at its Nyíregyháza site with an investment of HUF 54 billion (around EUR 140 million).

The project, which will be completed by 2025, includes the expansion of the company’s own solar park and a geothermal energy project. LEGO is creating more than 300 additional jobs with these projects. The state is supporting the investment with HUF 4.3 billion (EUR 11.1 million).

From 2024, LEGO will build the new factory halls on a total area of 30,000 square meters and will increase the storage capacity by one third. The Nyíregyháza site opened in 2014 with an initial area of 120,000 square meters, which will increase to over 260,000 square meters by 2025.
