Yettel – Network development in billions

The mobile communications service provider Yettel is increasing its network capacity with an investment of HUF several billions. The development of the core network will enable the introduction of new services and can also increase the capacity of the 4G network, which already has nationwide coverage and pave the way for the 5G developments.

Yettel already has more than 400 base stations nationwide with 5G services, and this number is still growing. This provides the basis for 5G-based so-called Fixed Wireless Access services for the home and office.

Yettel plans to complete the network development in 2023. The phasing out of 3G is taking place in parallel, with the 900MHz frequency – the frequency that will enable wide area coverage – already being phased out nationwide.
