Sz. Variáns Kft, a manufacturer of paper-based packaging materials, is planning to invest HUF 1 billion (approx. EUR 2.5 million) over the next five years to increase its capacity.
The company will acquire the necessary production equipment in three phases for around HUF 720 million (EUR 1.8 million) and spend a further HUF 300 million (EUR 759 thousand) on the development and expansion of its site in Debrecen.
Founded in 1994, the company generates around 80 percent of its turnover with the packaging of retail products as well as hard-shell and marketing packaging. It supplies the entire industrial sector, including the confectionery, porcelain and electronics industries.
Sz. Variáns Kft. is present in Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Great Britain. Exports currently account for around 20 percent of annual sales and are set to increase to 40 percent by 2029. In 2022, the company reported sales revenue of HUF 1.87 billion (EUR 4.7 million) and a taxed profit of HUF 278 million (EUR 703 thousand).
