Sensirion Hungary Kft. has inaugurated its second production facility and a logistics center in Debrecen.
The investment covered nearly 7,000 square meters and amounted to approximately HUF 4.5 billion (EUR 11 million). The logistics center comprises 1,600 square meters across two storage areas, while the two-story production hall includes three production segments per floor, as well as areas for logistics, staff, offices, meeting rooms, a 330 square meters SensiAcademy lecture hall, and a rooftop café with panoramic views. Sustainable operation is ensured through geothermal energy and solar panel systems. According to Franziska Brem, Vice President of Swiss parent company Sensirion AG, the Debrecen site has developed into a strategic hub for the group since 2021.
Sensirion’s sensors are used in a wide range of fields from healthcare to the automotive industry. With nearly 100 employees, the Debrecen subsidiary tripled its revenue from HUF 1.6 billion (EUR 3,9 million) to HUF 4.9 billion forints (EUR 11.9 million) in 2023. However, during its first two full business years since launching in Eastern Hungary, the company has accumulated a total loss of nearly HUF 2.2 billion (EUR 5.3 million).
