Re-Glass Kft – Investment in recycling

The glass recycling company Re-Glass has completed an investment worth more than HUF 1 billion (EUR 2.4 million) in Orosháza. It expanded its plant by 240 square meters and received subsidies amounting to HUF 300 million (EUR 733 thousand).

The new glass processing line is almost fully automated, but the number of employees was increased by three to a total of 65. In addition to a new processing line, the existing plant will continue to be used, which will significantly increase overall capacity. Since the nationwide introduction of the new deposit system, the company has already recorded an increase in recyclable raw material. A four-shift operation is planned for next year.

Founded in 2000, Fer-Marik Kft. has been operating under the name Re-Glass since 2019 and collects, treats and recycles all types of glass waste. The country’s largest glass recycler also processes car windows and laminated glass waste. The company also has a license to process solar panels. Besides the main site in Orosháza, it operates a collection point in Budapest and a flat glass processing plant in Mezőörs. In Győr, the company is currently testing methods to separate and recycle the components of laminated car windows. This includes reclaiming both the glass and the PVB adhesive, which were previously disposed of in landfills.

In 2023, the company generated revenue of HUF 4.75 billion (EUR 11.6 million). This is almost twice as much as in the previous year. Profit after tax increased from HUF 300 million (EUR 733 thousand) to HUF 685 million (EUR 1.6 million).
