Nippon Paper Industries – Plant in Vácrátót

The Japanese company Nippon Paper Industries is building a carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) plant in Vácrátót (north of Budapest) with an investment of HUF 15 billion (EUR 38 million). 60 jobs will be created here. The government is supporting the investment with HUF 2.3 billion (EUR 5.8 million).

The material produced here is used to build batteries using environmentally friendly technology. Production in the approx. 8,000 square meters plant is expected to start at the end of 2024. The planned CMC capacities allow the production of batteries with a total output of 300 GWh, the company expects annual sales of around EUR 50 million.
