The Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) is supporting companies in implementing energy efficiency measures with a new interest-free loan. Under the EU co-financed loan structure, nearly HUF 39 billion (EUR 102.9 million) are available.
Companies can apply for a loan ranging from HUF 10 million (approx. EUR 26,000) to HUF 500 million (approx. EUR 1.3 million). According to the regulations, an energy efficiency improvement of at least 30% compared to the initial state must be achieved.
Applications under the program can be submitted for energy-related building upgrades, such as insulation, replacement of windows and doors, modernization of hot water systems, or energy-efficient modernization of machinery and equipment.
The new interest-free loan is available to all Hungarian businesses. Eligible applicants are those whose fiscal year has been completed. However, the respective development must take place outside Budapest. Applications can be submitted until the end of May 2027 or until the funding framework is fully utilized.
