Electrolux will stop refrigerator production at the Nyíregyháza plant, which employs 650 people from January 2024. Reasons are the changed business environment and the low demand. Electrolux built the plant in Nyíregyháza in 2005 with an investment of EUR 65 million.
Electrolux is committed to working with stakeholders to develop a support program to help employees find new jobs, beyond the collective agreement. The company is now exploring the possibilities for further use of the site with the responsible ministry and the city.
The decision does not affect the company’s activities in Jászberény, where Electrolux will continue to produce refrigerators that meet the requirements of the new energy law.
