The German company Einhell, which is a market leader in the do-it-yourself sector, wants to supplement its sales activities in Hungary with production. Einhell is therefore building a plant in Sormás (near Nagykanizsa, Zala County) for the assembly of batteries and chargers for do-it-yourself machines.
The HUF 2 billion (approx. EUR 5 million) development will create 80 new jobs. The investment is being subsidized by the state to the tune of HUF 400 million (EUR 1 million).
A significant part of the company’s supply chain consists of Chinese partners, which the government would also like to attract to Hungary, as one of the main strengths of the Hungarian economy lies in German-Chinese economic cooperation. The expansion of which to the do-it-yourself sector could be another important step towards diversifying the domestic economy.
