The South Korean automotive supplier BC GEN Hungary Kft. is investing HUF 21 billion (approx. EUR 53 million) in Salgótarján. The development will create 400 new jobs and the state is providing subsidies amounting to HUF 3.75 billion (EUR 9.6 million).
Bumchun Green Energy Co., Ltd., the South Korean company has decided to expand its first foreign-built plant in Salgótarján and triple its capacity for the production of aluminum battery connectors for electric vehicles.
The investment will further strengthen the Hungarian electronics sector, which recorded a production value of HUF 4,500 billion (EUR 11.5 billion) in the first five months of the year. The extremely high competitiveness of the sector is reflected in the current export share of 95%.
