The BMW Group’s largest PV system will be installed at the BMW factory site in Debrecen. The BMW Group factory in Debrecen and E.ON Hungária signed a contract for the construction of a 50-hectare solar park.
320,000 square meters of solar panels will be installed, 187,000 square meters of which will be on the roof of the factory buildings and the rest on the ground.
71,000 panels will be installed on an area the size of 70 soccer pitches, with a capacity of 43 MW, covering the energy needs of 20,000 households per year. The project will be completed by November 2025, when car production starts.
