The leading Hungarian freight forwarder Waberer’s has successfully completed the acquisition of a majority stake in MD International, a leading player in the Serbian distribution market.
The acquisition of 55 percent of the shares in MDI, announced last October, supports the strategic goal of the Waberer’s Group to achieve the leading position in the Eastern European region for complex logistics services by 2027. The company is also exploring further regional acquisitions.
With the main activities of domestic distribution – supplying retail chains and warehousing – MDI fits perfectly into the portfolio of Waberer’s. MDI employs almost 300 people and operates logistics centres in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad and Čačak with total storage space of almost 10,000 square meters.
