Average gross wages at the beginning of the year were around HUF 605,000 (EUR 1,532), according to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Full-time employees earned an average net wages of HUF 415,000 (EUR 1,050). This means that net wages rose by an average of 14.5 percent and real wages by 10.4 percent.
However, the median net wage in January 2024 was HUF 340,000 (EUR 865). Gross wages ranged from around HUF 400,000 (EUR 1,000) in the hospitality industry to a good HUF 950,000 (EUR 2,405) in the ICT and financial sectors.
