E.ON is building a new battery energy storage facility in Soroksár by November 2025, which will enable the connection of new solar systems and increase security of supply.
The battery energy storage facility will be able to store around 6 MWh of energy from around 350 private solar systems. Its installation will also improve the stability of the grid and reduce possible outages due to voltage fluctuations.
The total cost of the investment is HUF 784.52 million (EUR 1.9 million), of which HUF 337.50 million (EUR 854 thousand) comes from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). E.ON will finance the remainder from its own funds. In the coming years, E.ON will spend a record sum of almost HUF 400 billion (EUR 1 billion) on the expansion of its electricity network.
