MOL – Focus on biofuel

Rossi Biofuel Zrt., partially owned by MOL, is now able to produce more than 200,000 tons of biofuel per year.

The MOL Group is increasingly focusing on renewable fuels such as biodiesel as part of its long-term “shape tomorrow” strategy. MOL supplies nine countries with fuels blended with biodiesel or bioethanol or other renewable substances. Mol has been active in biodiesel production through Rossi Biofuel since 2008.

In April of this year, MOL inaugurated a new green hydrogen plant at the Danube refinery, which produces 1,600 tons of the energy carrier annually for use in fuel production, reducing the refinery’s carbon dioxide emissions by around 25,000 tons per year.
