The BUX stock index of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) produced a series of positive results in July, closing the month with 13 trading days in a row with a positive value at 53,375.9 points, 5.7 percent higher than in June. On the cash market, HUF 188 billion (EUR 482 million) were traded, a daily average of HUF 8.9 billion (EUR 22.8 million). In the previous month of June, turnover was HUF 230 billion (EUR 589.7 million) with a daily average of HUF 10.5 billion (EUR 26.9 million). The market event of the month was the listing of Civita Group which was accompanied by an IPO (Initial Public Offering).
The shares of OTP Bank were the most traded in July with HUF 100.9 billion (EUR 258.7 million), representing 53.7% of the total turnover. The bank shares were followed by Mol and Richter, with the petroleum company and the pharmaceutical company achieving a turnover of HUF 45.1 billion (EUR 115.6 million) and HUF 29.9 billion (EUR 76.6 million), respectively.
