To further strengthen the SME sector, the government has adopted new measures. As of 1 August, the maximum amount of the Széchenyi investment loan MAX+ (and the related Széchenyi agricultural investment loan) has been doubled to HUF 1 billion (EUR 2.5 million) and the maximum amount of the Széchenyi leasing loan has also been increased to HUF 400 million (EUR 1 million), informed Máté Lóga, State Secretary for Economic Development and National Financial Services, the Economic Development Ministry. The increased loan amount will pave the way for further investments that will increase competitiveness and further support the transition to a green economy. In the current high-interest rate environment, the Széchenyi Card Programme offers very favourable financing opportunities for domestic SMEs at a fixed net interest rate of 5% until maturity. The Széchenyi Card MAX+ programme, launched in early 2023, received almost 30,000 applications by 31 July, with a total value of around HUF 1,200 billion (EUR 3 billion), half of which have already been contracted.
