Budapest Airport Zrt. – Increased handling capacities

Budapest Airport Zrt. will increase the annual air cargo handling capacity from the current 250,000 tons to 300,000 tons with the expansion of Bud Cargo City.

Last year, Bud Cargo City handled 200,000 tons of air cargo, an increase of 6% compared to 2021 and 43% compared to 2019. Budapest Airport started the construction of the cargo center in 2018 with an investment of EUR 50 million, the first phase of which was inaugurated in 2020. This will now be expanded with a further EUR 30 million. The second phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The air cargo building will be expanded by 6,700 square meters on the ground floor, complemented by 2,200 square meters of office area in the galleries.
