Audi Hungaria has completed the expansion of the tool plant. Highly automated manufacturing cells produce bodywork items for exclusive series of the Volkswagen and Audi Group.
Since it was founded in 2005, the tool plant at Audi Hungaria has been continuously expanded. A wide range of products and services have been developed, including manufacturing simulation, construction and exclusive series production. The tool plant currently employs around 700 people, making it one of the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The 58,300 square meters hall is equipped with the latest technologies, including a highly flexible press line, laser cutting systems, flexible robot cells and the latest measurement technology.
As part of the investment promotion program, the government has provided HUF 1.2 billion (EUR 2.8 million) for the HUF 3.8 billion (more than EUR 9 million) expansion of the tool factory. As a result of the expansion, the production and logistics capacities have been expanded by 6,300 square meters and boosted capacity for exclusive serial production by 30%. Thanks to the production equipment and robots installed as part of the development, bodywork items for several models from Audi, Lamborghini and Bentley models will be produced in the hall.
