The first phase of the capacity expansion of the Lego plant in Nyíregyháza has been completed. The investment increased the molding plant capacity by 50% and the packaging capacity by 25%.
With the investment of HUF 53 billion (EUR 129 million), the the current 160,000 square meter plant will be expanded by 72,000 square meters of new construction. In addition, at least 250 new jobs will be created. LEGO already employs over 3,100 people in Hungary. Production is scheduled to start in 2023 in the new factory. The government is supporting the investment with HUF 5.8 billion (EUR 13.6 million).
In addition to Hungary, LEGO currently produces in Denmark, the Czech Republic, Mexico and China, and two new production sites are planned in the USA and Vietnam by 2025.
