BAT Group – Center for non-combustible products

The British tobacco products group BAT is investing HUF 60 billion (EUR 150 million) to develop the Pécs site into a production center for non-combustible products.

BAT plans to build a new 7,500 square meters factory building. The Pécs site will be expanded by 16 production lines and a new product group. This major investment will create 450 new jobs. This means that the BAT Group will employ over 1,000 people in the southern Hungarian city in future.

According to BAT’s Regional Director for Central Europe, Usman Zahur, his company’s strategic objective is to offer smokers better alternatives to cigarettes. By 2035, the BAT Group aims to generate half of its sales revenue from the new products.
