4iG Nyrt. merges its aerospace and technology interests into a standalone company, 4iG Space and Technology Zrt. in the areas of space and satellite development, drones and digital defense.
4iG S&T Zrt. will become the direct owner of Rotors and Cams Zrt, RAC Antidrone Zrt, Hungaro DigiTel Kft, Spacecom Ltd, CarpathiaSat Zrt and REMRED Zrt. 4iG is currently acquiring an initial 45% stake in REMRED. REMRED is a Hungarian company with almost 50 years of experience in the field of space engineering, as well as a partner and supplier of leading space agencies worldwide (such as ESA, NASA, JAXA, DLR).
In spring, REMRED plans to build a 4,000 square meters space technology center in Martonvásár, which will manufacture, assemble, integrate and test complete satellites and space systems. The investment is expected to create 85 jobs.
The acquisition of REMRED fits in well with the medium-term strategy presented by Rheinmetall AG and 4iG Nyrt. in the fall of 2023. This includes the areas of space, digital defense, autonomous aircraft manufacturing and drone defense. The cooperation between the two groups could generate sales of EUR 1.7-2.3 billion over the next five years at most.
Budapest-based 4iG Nyrt. is the leading telecommunications and IT group in Hungary and the Western Balkans, employing more than 8,000 people.
