The 4 millionth car rolled off the production line at the Suzuki plant in Esztergom. Magyar Suzuki Zrt. plans to build 130,000 cars this year, after 160,000 last year.
The Japanese company started production in Hungary in 1992. Suzuki has invested EUR 2 billion in Esztergom. The parent company is increasingly outsourcing tasks to its Hungarian company, with Hungarian engineers also playing an important role in the development of prototypes and production technology.
Over the past 30 years, 7 models have been produced in Esztergom, and the Vitara and S-Cross are currently in production. The vehicles produced here are exported to 123 countries around the world.
In the 2022 financial year, Magyar Suzuki Zrt. achieved a total net turnover of EUR 2.14 billion, of which EUR 271 million was domestic and EUR 1.87 billion was export. Sales in Hungary increased by 2.3% and export sales by 26%. Profit after tax amounted to EUR 22.7 million.
