Andrada to open high-tech recycling plant in Sóskút

With an investment of HUF 13 billion (EUR 34 million), the Slovenian Andrada Group is opening a high-tech recycling plant for green energy storage systems in Sóskút.

The development will create 160 new jobs. The company plans to start its operation in Februrary.

This is the largest ever Slovenian investment in Hungary.

The company processes inactive green energy storage systems using mechanical processes with fire and explosion proof technology. It safely and cleanly extracts recyclable metals from the components. At the end of the process, the active cathode materials nickel, manganese and cobalt as well as aluminum, copper and steel will be recyclable. A similar mechanical recycling technology is already in use at more than 30 sites across Europe, from Germany to Switzerland and France, in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Andrada uses an innovative, improved version of this technology.

Andrada is looking for opportunities to establish several more sites in Hungary.
