Magyar Posta (Hungarian Post) inaugurated the 100th new post office in Csököly (Somogy County) as part of its postal partnership. Together with post offices, mobile post offices and a growing network of postal partners, the company now serves customers at 3,200 locations.
The new partnership model is Magyar Posta’s 2023 success programme. Since the new partnership was announced in February, the company has already signed contracts with 210 partners. Two-thirds of the partners are typically municipalities with less than 1,500 inhabitants and one-third local businesses, grocery stores or pharmacies.
From 15 October, in cooperation with the National Employment Fund (Országos Foglalkoztatási Alap Nonprofit Kft.), Magyar Posta’s new type of postal partners will be able to apply for a non-repayable job creation grant of HUF 125,000 (EUR 323) per employee per month for six months.
Magyar Posta is also expanding its parcel vending machine network, putting its 500th machine into operation in Budapest’s Etele Pláza shopping centre. The expansion of the network will continue, with another 150 machines to be installed across the country next year.
The post office has recognised the importance of out-of-home delivery. Following the international trend, Hungary was one of the first countries to install parcel vending machines. Its share of the parcel machine market is currently 35%.
