Solum Zrt. has inaugurated a new HUF 3 billion (EUR 7.7 million) cattle farm in Komárom.
The Bavarian Sano Group has invested HUF 22 billion (EUR 56.8 million) in the company’s various locations since taking over Solum Zrt. in 2020. At the same time, the number of dairy cows has increased by almost a fifth and milk production by 12%. Last year, Solum Zrt. increased its turnover by half to HUF 9.4 billion (EUR 24.2 million).
The government is also committed to achieving a balance between animal and plant breeding. So far, the Regional Development Programme has received almost 1,750 applications for modernised farms, for which almost HUF 200 billion (EUR 516.7 million) in state subsidies have been granted. An additional HUF 400 billion (EUR 1 billion) is available for the implementation of green investment goals, in particular the self-sufficient energy supply of farms. From May 2022, livestock farmers who meet all the requirements will be eligible for a subsidy of EUR 284 per animal per year.
