Benepack Hungary Kft. is building a packaging materials factory in the Makó industrial park with an investment of EUR 65 million (HUF 25.3 billion). The new production facility will employ 120 people and will be able to produce up to one billion two-piece aluminium cans per year.
Infrastructure for the plant is expected to be completed in the next 12 months. Production can start in September 2024.
The plant is expected to enable the company to offer more cost-effective and environmentally friendly packaging solutions to its customers – beer and soft drink producers – in Hungary and the surrounding countries.
Founded in 1991 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Benepack employs 6,000 people and has annual sales of $1.3 billion. In 2020, the company built its first European plant in Genk, Belgium, with an investment of EUR 120 million, producing 2 billion aluminium cans annually.
