OPUS TITÁSZ-OPUS TIGÁZ – Electricity and gas networks development

In the whole county of Hajdú-Bihar and in the northern part of Békés, HUF 5.8 billion (EUR 15.5 million) will be invested in maintenance and development of the electricity network this year. HUF 2.6 billion (EUR 6.9 million) will be invested in the gas network, informed OPUS TITÁSZ Zrt. and OPUS TIGÁZ Zrt.

OPUS TITÁSZ is building a more than 43 km long distribution network, 93 new transformer stations, more than 13,000 new consumption points and replacing 13,000 meters. The Debrecen power plant supplies electricity to 276,000 customers in the region through an 8,500 km long power grid with more than 3,100 substations.

The expansion of the distribution network and substations will continue in the coming years. 137.5 MVA will be expanded in the northern economic zone of Debrecen, where the future BMW car plant will also be located, 740 MVA in the southern zone and 60 MVA in the local agro-industrial park.

With support from the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility and the government, complex investments are being made in the electricity grid under the Széchenyi Plan Plus with an investment of HUF 26.6 billion (EUR 71.3 million) to ensure the integration of solar PV systems.

Through its gas supply division, OPUS TIGÁZ Zrt. serves 154,000 customers and distributes about 434 million cubic meters of natural gas per year. This year’s developments include the construction of 121 new backbone pipelines and approximately 400 branch pipelines. In addition, the developments include the reconstruction of 3.5 km of distribution network, 6 pressure regulation stations and a pressure regulation building in Hajdú-Bihar County.
