The BMW supplier Boysen is building a battery plant in Nyíregyháza with an investment of HUF 60 billion (EUR 150 million) and creating 400 new jobs. In the over 50,000 square meters plant, production is scheduled to start in 2025.
Nyíregyháza is only about 50 km from Debrecen, where the BMW factory is being built for EUR 2 billion, which will also include battery production in addition to the construction of electric cars. At the same time, the supplier Boysen is building a greenfield plant, the first in which the company will exclusively produce components for electric cars.
