Tobacco company Continental Dohányipari Zrt. significantly increased its capacities in Sátoraljaújhely. For the total investment of HUF 9.2 billion (approx. EUR 22.6 million), the company received state subsidies of HUF 3.6 billion (EUR 8.8 million).
The company supplies 30 countries with its products and employs 540 people and indirectly 4,000 people.
Since 1998, the company has invested HUF 27 billion (EUR 66.5 million) in the location and international expansion. It has also been present in Germany since 2004 via Continental Tobacco Germany GmbH.
Continental Dohanyipari Zrt. increased its revenues last year by a fifth to HUF 56.4 billion (approx. EUR 138.9 million) and its taxed profit from HUF 6 to 6.4 billion (EUR 15.7 million).
