Schneider Electric is building a smart factory in Dunavecse with an investment of HUF 16 billion (EUR 40 million). The factory is expected to start production in 2024.
The smart factory, which is engaged in energy management and industrial automation solutions will cover 20,000 square meters. It will be carbon neutral and the most advanced industrial technology will be used to produce medium-voltage equipment for electrical distribution systems. After 2025, the number of employees in the new plant is expected to be 500.
Schneider Electric has been present in Hungary since 1991. The company, which employs around 2,000 people in Hungary, currently has four factories (two in Zalaegerszeg, one in Gyöngyös and one in Kunszentmiklós) and a regional logistics center (CEElog Szigetszentmiklós) serving more than 20 countries. In addition, Schneider Electric has a commercial, sales and customer service center (Front Office) in Budapest and a sustainability service center (SB, Sustainability Business). The company’s global financial and procurement center (GSC, Global Supply Chain) is also located in the Hungarian capital. The company employs around 2,000 people in Hungary.
