Kende Gastro Zrt. presented Hungary’s first automated container store. The company is the exclusive European distributor of the technology and plans to expand in the neighboring countries as well.

No staff is required in the automated stores and cameras track the purchases. The system identifies the products taken from the shelf, puts them in a virtual shopping cart and automatically debits the payment from the credit card saved in the app after leaving the store. The container shop costs between HUF 20-40 million (EUR 52-104 thousand) on a turnkey basis. Companies will receive professional advice on site selection, installation and the commissioning of smart camera technology.

The automated container stores could also be of interest to festivals and smaller communities without a grocery store.

In 2021, the company reported sales of HUF 1.6 billion (EUR 4 million). Last year the company employed around 40 people, including a four-person development team.
