The German company Transporeon, one of the largest global software service providers in the logistics segment, is taking over the Hungarian company,  Nexogen. The four Hungarian company owners will remain responsible for the management of Nexogen even after the takeover.

Transporeon, with more than 1,200 employees and origins in Ulm, now has around half a dozen regional offices on three continents; total sales already exceeded EUR 100 million in 2020.

Nexogen recently developed software with the University of Győr to make road traffic more cost- and energy-efficient. With EU funding of around HUF 1 billion (about EUR 2.8 million), Széchenyi University, Nexogen Kft. and Waberer’s International Nyrt developed the software to reduce waiting times and empty runs in road transport. When planning a trip, the new software can find the best option for utilization in 2 to 3 minutes, taking into account workloads, overall fleet status and driver rest times. The project was preceded by Nexogen’s WIRE (Waberer’s Intelligent Routing Engine) design algorithm, for which Waberer’s provided the environment for live testing.
