The Japanese automotive supplier HI-LEX has created 30 new jobs through an investment of HUF 2.5 billion (EUR 6.4 million) in Rétság. The project included capacity expansion and the development of renewable energy solutions, supported by government funding of HUF 450 million (EUR 1.1 million).
HI-LEX operates more than 50 factories in 19 countries worldwide and will now supply BMW plants in Debrecen and Germany from this location. In addition, the door modules produced in Rétság are manufactured based on a patent registered in Hungary.
Japanese companies represent the ninth-largest group of investors in Hungary, with around 200 companies employing more than 30,000 people.
