Ceres Sütőipari Zrt., a subsidiary of the Czech Penam Group, has laid the foundation stone in Tata for the largest bakery factory in Central and Eastern Europe. The investment amounts to HUF 24.6 billion (EUR 63 million) and is supported by state and EU funding totaling HUF 4.2 billion (EUR 10.7 million).
The 14,000 square meters production hall is being built on a 7-hectare site. In the first phase, 100 new jobs will be created. The company specializes primarily in the production of pre-baked, pre-sliced, and packaged bread, but also manufactures other baked goods. It currently operates two production facilities in Győr and Miskolc and employs around 200 people.
