ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules has officially opened its new e-axle assembly plant in Debrecen. With an investment of HUF 10 billion (EUR 26.7 million), ZF Foxconn will create 230 new jobs. The state is supporting the development with approximately HUF 1 billion (EUR 2.5 million). Covering a total area of more than 15,000 square meters, the plant includes 14,500 square meters of production and warehouse space, as well as 900 square meters of office and communal areas.
The facility was purpose-built according to the just-in-sequence (JIS) production model. It manufactures front and rear axles for the BMW Group’s Neue Klasse vehicle platform, destined for the plant being built in the immediate vicinity. Within just 13 months, the state-of-the-art chassis module factory achieved full operational readiness.
The investment is part of ZF Foxconn’s EUR 62.5 million development program in Hungary, aimed at expanding its new plants in Debrecen and Kecskemét. The company plans to create a total of 550 new jobs in Hungary by 2027.
