The foundation stone has been laid for the massive “Emonika” real estate project in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. Hungarian OTP Group is investing approximately EUR 400 million in the development. The construction partner is the Austrian company Strabag.
For over 17 years, plans have existed to develop the long-vacant Emonika site. Mendota Invest, a subsidiary of the OTP Group, has spent the past five years on project planning, preparation, and obtaining the necessary permits. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
“Emonika” will feature a modern transportation hub, a residential complex, and the tallest office building in Ljubljana. The new urban district will include nearly 190 residential units, over 35,000 square meters of office space, 22,500 square meters of retail space, and two hotels. The surrounding rail and road infrastructure will also be upgraded.
