A new production hall of the ZF Group has been inaugurated in Debrecen.

The facility was developed by logistics real estate developer Panattoni Hungary in cooperation with the OTP Real Estate Fund for ZF Chassis Modules Hungary Kft., which will manufacture axles and chassis for the BMW plant in Debrecen using environmentally friendly technologies. The plant, located in the Northwest industrial zone of the eastern Hungarian city, represents an investment of nearly HUF 7.5 billion (approx. EUR 18 million) and will create 220 jobs.

At full capacity, the plant is expected to produce 35 chassis per hour. The production lines are largely automated, and series production is scheduled to begin in August.

Just last October, ZF Chassis Modules Hungary inaugurated a new production hall in Kecskemét, where 450 employees manufacture axle modules for the Mercedes-Benz plant located in the city. That investment amounted to EUR 14.6 million.

The ZF Group has been present in Hungary for nearly 30 years. In 2023, ZF Hungaria Kft. achieved revenues of HUF 302 billion (+26%) (EUR 740 million) and increased its profit by one-eighth to more than HUF 3.1 billion (EUR 7.6 million).
