4iG Space and Defence (4iG S&D) Zrt. and Houston-based company Axiom Space have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Washington to explore and develop orbital data centers (ODC). A joint working group will be established to identify potential synergies between the two companies.
Axiom Space, a leading player in commercial spaceflight, is currently developing the world’s first commercial space station. The company is also a partner in Hungary’s HUNOR space program.
4iG S&D, an independent holding of the 4iG Group, consolidates the company’s interests in the space and defense industries. Through its HUSAT Program, the first privately initiated satellite program in Central and Eastern Europe, the company plans to launch a satellite constellation by 2032, consisting of one geostationary satellite and eight low-Earth observation satellites. Additional business areas include satellite development, manufacturing, and operation, as well as drone production and counter-drone technologies.
