The luxury hotel Ritz-Carlton on Erzsébet Square in Budapest will now operate under the Al Habtoor Palace brand, as the ownership group transitions to its own hotel brand.
The centrally located property was acquired in 2012 by a group led by Saudi Arabian businessman Khalaf Al-Habtoor. At the time, the existing Le Méridien brand was replaced by the renowned Ritz-Carlton luxury brand. The Ritz-Carlton Budapest, part of the American Marriott Group, opened in 2016, marking the hotel chain’s first location in Central and Eastern Europe.
