Road safety, traffic network efficiency, and the prevention of accidents and congestion can be enhanced through the use of the digital twin framework. Experts from the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Debrecen (DE) are developing such a system in collaboration with the University of Florida and Seoul National University.
The scientific project, “Fraternity,” is funded with HUF 400 million (EUR 980,000) under the HU-rizont program. The transmission of real-time data measured in intelligent traffic systems (ITS) can significantly improve safe and dynamic traffic flow. In the near future, companies developing smart software may be able to conduct the necessary tests within the faculty.
