Yettel – Strategic agreement

The development of networks, cyber security and cooperation with universities are at the centre of a new strategic agreement between the Ministry of Economy, the mobile phone provider Yettel Magyarország and Cetin Zrt.

Yettel and Cetin have pledged to invest at least HUF 72 billion (EUR 185 million) in the expansion of the networks by 2028. At the end of this period, the 5G network density for the population should reach 99%. The state also wants to promote 5G network coverage for companies in the country through jointly developed reference projects.

Yettel Magyarország will be involved in digital education, cooperation with universities and the technological development of SMEs. Cetin Hungary Zrt. has already invested HUF 80 billion (EUR 205.6 million) in network expansion in this country since 2020.
