The U.S. pharmaceutical company Viatris Kft. has announced a follow-up investment of HUF 6.4 billion (EUR 16 million) in Komárom. Viatris Komárom-Mylan Hungary Kft. is expanding its capacities in packaging and quality control.
The site in northern Hungary has already served as a key center within Viatris’ European network, thanks to the company’s largest in-house EU laboratory for pharmaceutical testing. The current high value-added project, which was secured for Hungary amid strong competition from overseas and Asia, is receiving state subsidies of HUF 1.3 billion (EUR 3.25 million), as it helps safeguard 800 jobs.
