TDK Hungary Components Kft. invests billions in Szombathely

TDK Hungary Components Kft. has invested HUF 26 billion (approx. EUR 65 million) to create a further 250 jobs at the Szombathely site. The production base for signal transmitters and sensors for the automotive industry has now been expanded by 12,000 square meters. This will enable Szombathely to expand its position as one of TDK’s largest R&D centers for electronic components in Europe.

The government subsidized the major project with HUF 6.7 billion forints (EUR 16.75 million), as components for which there was previously no production in Europe will be manufactured here in the future.

Since 2022, the Japanese TDK Group has been realizing the most significant series of investments at the site in southwest Hungary, which is now celebrating its 30th anniversary with 2,200 employees.

TDK Hungary Components Kft. returned to profitability in the 2022/23 financial year after increasing sales revenue from EUR 260 million to almost EUR 300 million.
