Szatmári Kft. is investing around HUF 3.6 billion (EUR 8.5 million) in the construction of an automated high-bay warehouse in Jászberény. The government is supporting the investment with HUF 1.25 billion (EUR 2.9 million) under the Large Business Investment Scheme.
The development will preserve jobs and create 30 new ones. The automatic pallet warehouse combines shelving systems, automatic loading and unloading devices and warehouse management software. The logistics process is fully automated, manual material handling is only required when loading the trucks.
The company started in a small shop in 1990 selling gas appliances and home appliances. In 1996 the first branch was opened in Jászberény, and today the company has 41 branches, 9 project offices and 5 wholesale offices nationwide. In 2015, the profile was expanded to include the bathroom sector, and in 2016 the range was expanded to include building materials. Last year the company had net sales of HUF 53.48 billion (EUR 126.4 million) and a taxed profit of HUF 5.63 billion (EUR 13.3 million).
