Retail chain Spar Hungary is investing HUF 1.9 billion (more than EUR 4.5 million) to increase production capacity at its food manufacturing facilities.
The Regnum meat processing plant in Bicske, inaugurated in 2004, was expanded in 2020 with a second facility in Perbál. Since 2018, Spar Hungary also operates a plant in Üllő, where convenience products for its private-label food range are produced. To date, around HUF 20 billion (EUR 49.5 million) have been invested in these facilities. This investment volume will now be increased by ten percent.
Thanks to the purchase of new machinery, monthly sausage production capacity at the Regnum facility in Bicske will rise from 100 to 240 tons. In Perbál, a new production line for sliced sausage and salami products and their packaging will be installed, with a daily capacity of 3 tons.
At the Spar enjoy. convenience plant near Budapest, annual capacity for packaged salad products is expected to double from 700–800 tons.
